Los Angeles gallery Sonos Studio asked art director Phil Bicker to “remix” a number of classic Blue Note album covers for their exhibition Born in Blue.
From the press release: ‘Sonos Studio celebrates Blue Note Records’ 75th anniversary with Born In Blue, an immersive tribute to record collecting in the 21st century. Since 1939, Blue Note LPs have delivered authentic jazz experiences to music fans around the world. Every pressing is accompanied by the iconic typography, graphics, photography and notes that continue to inspire. Jazz in particular is a genre that has emphasized the record itself as an object of importance - largely due to the original artwork of Blue Note.’
The Sonos Studio is an acoustically-designed gallery that celebrates music listening and explores the intersection of music, art and technology through creative collaborations by hosting exhibitions, intimate concerts, listening parties, film screenings, lectures, workshops and more.
